Blue Pig Art Gallerie’s Art & Chocolate Walk

Saturday, November 26th

Palisade stores and vendors are all open and offering free chocolate to everyone all day. The event starts at 10:30 am and lasts until 4 pm. Pick up a punch card at participating merchants and get it punched at each location. Turn your card in at your last stop and be entered into a drawing for a big basket of goodies, filled with art, chocolate and many other wonderful things.

In addition to stores and vendors, the Palisade Historical Society’s History Center, 311 South Main Street, is also open. You can see our interesting displays, videos, and historical photos, while you nibble on chocolate and mingle with the crowd! The History Center is located in the heart of Palisade’s art community, so you can stroll around to enjoy a vast variety of fine art, gourmet foods, toys, jewelry, and one-of-a-kind gifts. Get started on your holiday shopping at this fun event!

Palisade Welcomes You & Yours to an Olde Fashioned Christmas

Friday December 2nd & Saturday December 3rd

Welcome to Olde Fashioned Christmas 2016. The whole town will be decorating for an experience that will take you out of the hustle and bustle to enjoy holiday magic with all the sights, sounds, tastes and joys of the season.

Find your holiday shopping a pleasure with the combination of over forty vendor booths and unique gift shops in downtown Palisade. Plan on spending the weekend with us shopping, sampling soups, singing carols, sharing a carriage ride, marveling at gingerbread creations, walking through history, spreading good cheer and savoring the flavor of Palisade.

Dec. 2 | 5 pm

Light the Town Tree with caroling by the Taylor Elementary Serenaders

Warm up with hot cocoa and coffee at the Plaza or purchase a cup of soup for Altrusa’s Cup of Warmth at the Slice of Life Bakery.

Dec. 2 | 4 pm – 7 pm

Gingerbread Contest

Enter your gingerbread creation at the Community Center contest.

The Parade of Lights

Floats, bands, horses, fire trucks, buggies and of course a visit from Santa!

Enjoy breakfast with Santa at Wine Country Inn, Santa and his elves will arrive around 9 am. $15/adult includes one child, additional kids 5-12 $7, 4 yrs and under are free.

Historic Guided Walking Tours of downtown Palisade

For a suggested $5 donation, you can select from three different tours. All tours start at The History Center, 311 South Main Street, and take about an hour. Call 970-464-2177 to reserve your spot in a morning or afternoon tour for you or your group/family. The History Center will be open and staffed by volunteers from 9:30 a.m. until 3:00 so again, you can also browse interesting displays, videos, and historic photos.

Meet the gingerbread man and lady

View the showcase of gingerbread creations and sit a spell downstairs at Santa’s Gingerbread Workshop. Kids can enjoy making craft ornaments and decorate their own gingerbread house cookie baked by the Christmas elves at Community Hospital. Santa will be there to get your Christmas lists!

The Soup Challenge

Stop by, sample and judge your favorite soup at the Marketplace Downtown.

Music at the Methodist Church and at the Seventh Day Adventist Church next door will entertain and delight. The Nativity Set Collection is on display at the Seventh Day Adventist Church.  Story telling at the library and Historical walking tours to entertain young and old.

The Annual Rotary Silent Auction will have items for bid, located at the Palisade Chamber of Commerce office at 305 Main Street. Check out the many items donated by local merchants from dining certificates, warm alpaca items, night stays, jewelry and so much more.
