Summer is right around the corner, so it’s time to check items off the summer bucket list and start booking those vacations! What better way to get away this year than to check out Colorado’s western slope and the exciting events we have planned?

Palisade offers something for everyone, from the empty nester looking for a fun week of wine tastings to the entire family in search of some great music in a relaxed setting.

Summer Bucket List Item #1: Summer Concert – Palisade Bluegrass and Roots Festival

Nothing says ‘summer’ like a good music festival, and here on the western slope, we have the Palisade Bluegrass and Roots Festival.

From June 9-11, 2023, in Riverbend Park, located on the majestic Colorado River, some of the best bluegrass and roots musicians around gather to fill the rocky mountain air with music. With an incredible lineup of 13 different artists, the festival this year is sure to have you up out of your seat and dancing!

Summer Bucket List Item #2: Go to a Farmers Market

From June through October in downtown Palisade, the Sunday Famers Market brings produce and fruit from across the western slope to town. We’re proud to be ranked No.3 on USA Today’s 10 Best in the nation!

Bring the kids and dogs and stroll the streets of downtown Palisade. While we’re known for our peaches, you can also sample other local produce and talk with local artisans, crafters, musicians, nonprofit organizations, wineries, view chef demonstrations, and more.

Summer Bucket List Item #3: Experience Local Summer Events

Part of the joy of small towns is our unique local events! We also play host to the Edesia Wine & Food Festival in April and the Colorado Lavender Festival in June, and we love it when visitors come!

If wine is not your beverage of choice, check out the Grand Valley Bank Brews & Cruise Festival in May, which showcases local breweries. Nothing quite beats sipping a cold beer in our sunny valley while mingling with friends.

Perhaps the most famous event is the Palisade Peach Festival in August, celebrating the famed western slope peaches. Sample the fresh fruits picked right from the tree, infused into jams, salsas, wines, and more!

Where to Stay

There are endless options when it comes to fun spring and summer lodging when visiting Palisade.

If you are feeling a little fancy, consider one of our posh vineyard inns, such as the Wine Country Inn.

Tent camping or staying in RV at the James M. Robb Colorado State Park is another great way to see the region up close. Whichever way you choose, we’re excited to host you and share our little slice of paradise!
