Top 3 Reasons to Visit Palisade in the Spring
Spring might be our favorite time of year in Palisade. The orchards and vineyards are starting to awaken. The days are longer and full of sunshine, and Palisade turns into a rejuvenating retreat in the Colorado desert. Visit during the middle of the week, and you’ll likely have this fruitful paradise all to yourself. Soak up the Colorado sunshine during outdoor wine tastings, a leisurely bike ride along the Fruit & Wine Byway, or hiking the Palisade Rim Trail while you take in the sprawling views from atop the world’s largest flat-top mountain.
1. the blossoms
Palisade is pretty in pink in the Spring! Palisade is known for growing some of North America’s best fruit, and seeing the orchards and vineyards come to life is truly a feast for the eyes.
Best way to enjoy the blossoms: Take in the beauty of Colorado’s blooming wine country on two wheels via the Fruit & Wine Byway. This route will take you through the blossoming orchards, lavender gardens, world-class vineyards, premium wineries, and fruit stands with fresh produce along the way.
2. The Weather
The best part: Spring comes early in Colorado’s high desert. While the rest of Colorado can’t make up its mind if it’s Winter or Spring, you’re sure to have a warm, sunny visit to Palisade.
Our favorite way to get out and enjoy the weather: Palisade can feed your adventurous side too! Hike the Palisade Rim Trail and take in the scenic views of orchards and vineyards from 1,000 feet above the valley floor.

Beautiful views and warm sunshine wouldn’t be complete without a glass of wine from one of Palisade’s more than 25 wineries. Grab a glass, and cheers to a much-needed getaway!
