Historical Tours
The Town of Palisade, Colorado, has evolved over the years. Many come to enjoy its agriculture and outdoor recreation now, but it was not this way many years ago! The Palisade History Museum is full of interesting displays that cover Palisade’s agricultural history, coal mining history, the process of peaches, and more. It is open Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and we invite you to come learn about how Palisade became the thriving orchard and vineyard destination it is today. Admission is free! If you’re looking for a great day activity, come tour the Palisade Museum and then have lunch in town.
The Palisade History Museum is located at 3740 G Road on Highway 6 near Elberta Avenue. Palisade’s first history museum is in a pre-1939 log structure built by George Bunte, Jr. for his Grand Junction Palisade Freight business.
