Wineries to Try

delve into colorado’s wine country with our 30+ wineries.

Most Palisade wineries are locally owned and locally grown.

Palisade has had grapes growing in the area prior to the prohibition. The natural climate of the high desert valley was conducive to growing grapes. But the first commercial grapes were planted in the early 1970s. Wineries became established in the 1980s, producing some of the first wines from Colorado. Palisade is also rich in pears, cherries, and peaches; you can find wines made of these delicious fruits as well!

Each winery has its own specialty when it comes to making wine. You’ll find a red grape Cabernet Franc and white grape Sauvignon Blanc, with many variations across Palisade. The Cabernet Franc and Riesling are common as these grapes grow well here, but you’ll also find Meritage White, Chardonnay, Syrah, Merlot, Viognier, Ports, and so much more.
