Cameo Shooting and Education Complex
This 2,000-acre shooting complex is located between the Town of Palisade and the Grand Mesa National Forest. The Town of Palisade and the Colorado Parks and Wildlife teams are developing the area to include a variety of shooting ranges, educational opportunities, and professional sporting events. The Cameo Shooting and Education Complex is an exciting attraction to visitors in the area, as well as provides the Grand Valley with a professional location for Hunt Master Training and Hunter Safety Classes, police officer training, environmental sciences, outdoor skills, and shooting competitions.
The First Shot Ceremony occurred on May 20, 2017, when Governor John Hickenlooper took the ceremonial first shot from his 6.5 Creedmoor rifle. This project is currently under construction and is expected to be partially open to the public at the beginning of 2018.
