Experience the outdoors and have space to explore at James M. Robb Colorado State Park, just outside of Palisade. Sites for both tent and RV camping are located in the Island Acres Section just east of Palisade at exit 47 from Interstate 70. Nestled along the Colorado River in De Beque Canyon, Island Acres offers opportunities for hiking, biking, fishing, and swimming. First-time visitors should be aware the campground is located adjacent to the Interstate and train tracks. However, most folks tune out any noise and enjoy the scenery. Reservations for Island Acres are recommended for summer weekends, during community events, stays of more than three nights, or for a particular site. It’s the perfect place to get outside and unplug from the hustle and bustle of the world without feeling completely remote. Palisade is just down the road with restaurants and activities.
